The business of Abingtons, Tailors and Outfitters was formed in 1858 in East Street, Kimbolton. Amongst famous individuals that the firm has served in the course of its existence are the late Prince William of Gloucester, Guy Gibson, Ernie Wise, H.E. Bates, Clark Gable and John Major. Four generations of the Abington family have provided professional, quality mens tailoring from the family shop which was originally founded by Edwin Ebenezer Abington when it relocated from London to the beautiful village of Kimbolton. Richard Abington took over the business in 1971 and today runs the firm with wife Karen. The business is now believed to be the oldest family run business running in Huntingdonshire. Abingtons stock has evolved over the years to cater for both formal and casual wear with its in house tailor Carlos on hand to fit and alter garments to perfectly fit the individual.
